AMPS releases ABILE, the algorithm for the analysis of continuous ECG traces

New York, October 7th, 2015

AMPS LLC is proud to announce the release of ABILE; the new automatic measurement algorithm empowering the newest modules of the AMPS Continuous Ecg Recording Suite (CER-S).

Building on many years of research, experience accumulated by partnering with the most successful Clinical Research Organizations worldwide, and the famous cardiology unit of the Lariboisiere and Bichat Hospitals in Paris, AMPS was able to develop ABILE, a state-of-the-art algorithm for the automated analysis and measurement of continuous 12-lead ECGs (Holters).

Fabio Badilini, PhD, FACC, Chief Scientist and AMPS founder commented: “After the experience accumulated with the development of BRAVO, our resting ECG algorithm, we have developed this new algorithm specifically to address the need expressed by the Pharma and Core Labs industry to analyze continuous ECG recordings in order to satisfy the new FDA requirements. The existing commercial algorithms for the analysis of Holter recordings in fact were mainly targeted for the usage in a clinical environment and thus not adapted for the usage in the context of clinical trials.” He also added, “For us it’s an important Milestone and I am particularly proud of the AMPS team of engineers that helped in achieving such a major leap forward”.

The major features of ABILE include:

- ECG beat detection and classification

- ECG arrhythmias detection:

o Bradycardia, Prolonged RR Interval, Pause
o Supraventricular Tachycardia
o Isolated Supraventricular Beat, Supraventricular Couplet, Supraventricular Run, Supraventricular Bigeminy and Supraventricular Trigeminy
o Atrial Fibrillation
o Ventricular Tachycardia
o Isolated Ventricular Beat, Ventricular Couplet, Ventricular Run, Ventricular Bigeminy and Ventricular Trigeminy

ABILE is incorporated in several modules of the AMPS Continuous ECG Recording Suite (CER-S) released in parallel (see today’s CER-S Press Release) and can be used to analyze recordings of several Holter manufacturers thanks to the AMPS format conversion tools.
