AMPS releases the second version CER-S, AMPS Continuous Ecg Recording Suite

New York, October 7th, 2015

AMPS LLC announces the release of the second major version of CER-S (Continuous Ecg Recordings Suite) including three new Modules: ECG Beat Detection and Classification, Arrhythmia Detection and Rhythm & Beat Editing

Building on the first release of CER-S in March 2014, AMPS progressed with the plan to provide a complete set of state-of-the art tools for the semi-automated and automated analysis, measurement, and viewing of 12-lead Continuous ECGs, also known as Holter recordings, in the newly FDA-proposed standard format.

Today AMPS is glad to announce the release of three new modules: the Beat Detection and Classification module, The Arrhythmia Detection module, and the Rhythm & Beat Editing module.

The new modules benefit of the newly released ABILE algorithm (see today’s related press release) which allows to perform ECG beat detection and classification (including the generation of ECG Templates) of any Continuous ECG Recording in ISHNE format and of several other Holter manufacturers thanks to AMPS format conversion tools.

The Beat Detection and Classification Module
This module is at the base of all continuous ECG trace analysis. It provides the basic detection and classification of each beat in the recording.

The Arrhythmia Detection Module
Thanks to the ABILE algorithm, this module allows, by adjusting several parameters and thresholds, the detection of the following different ECG arrhythmias:

o Bradycardia, Prolonged RR Interval, Pause
o Supraventricular Tachycardia
o Isolated Supraventricular Beat, Supraventricular Couplet, Supraventricular Run, Supraventricular Bigeminy and Supraventricular Trigeminy
o Atrial Fibrillation
o Ventricular Tachycardia
o Isolated Ventricular Beat, Ventricular Couplet, Ventricular Run, Ventricular Bigeminy and Ventricular Trigeminy

The Rhythm & Beat Editing Module
An ergonomic Viewer/Editor of Continuous recording allowing the modification of the automatic beat detection/classification outcome by entering new ECG beats, changing the beat type and editing the automatically detected Arrhythmias. This module also includes several navigational features such as Histograms, Time Trends, Poincaré plots and Tables to easily review outliers or spot-check section of the ECG recording.

Fabio Badilini, PhD, FACC, Chief Scientist and AMPS founder commented: “As presented and promised at the Regulatory Review of Continuous ECGs Workshop held in Washington D.C. on December 11th, 2013 we are now ready to provide our customers with the expanded set of the CER-S modules, allowing them to comply with the request of the FDA for the submission of continuous data. This is a new major step forward for our customers, enormously facilitating their task of submitting to the FDA the data requested, which will ultimately lead to an even more effective work for FDA officials while approving new compounds”.

As of today the five CER-S modules are available for licensing to all the AMPS customers. Additional Modules of CER-S will become available following the calendar published in AMPS-QT: the AMPS quarterly magazine available at the AMPS web site (
